Growing a Beautiful Community

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

Growing up in a Caribbean home, I learned the beauty of the saying it take a village to raise a child. I definitely had a beautiful village around me that embraced me and siblings. Now that we're all in our 30's we have children of our own and we are raising them to be independent, strong, courageous, God fearing individuals.

Although 2020 has been a tough year for many, I truly believe we all have learned the importance of community and how each one help one. The village we had growing up may have changed in some ways, but growing a community of leaders, entrepreneurs, freedom fighters and successful mindsets, is encouraging to know when we come together we all can change the world.

If you feel a sense of abandonment or loneliness, trust and believe YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!

It's okay to not be okay! When the world feels heavy on your shoulders and you are overwhelmed, don't be consumed by the cares of the world, why? Because YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Not only is their a KING watching over you and keeping you and assuring you, you are loved, their is a community of people rooting for you!

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL~

Every childhood dream that didn't come to pass, it's okay to start dreaming again. It's time to pick up a pen and notepad and start writing your plans, your goals, your vision, your mission, your core values, and every dream you thought weren't possible, it's now to exhale and let it come to pass! Even when fear kicks in, trust me, doing it scared is the best time!

Let us live with no regrets. Tomorrow is not promised, so as we have today, it's another opportunity to try to be the best version of you! Continue blossoming, trust the process, trust the source and trust me you would never fail!

How have you helped to grow a strong community?

Feel free to share your thoughts.

Quote of the Day:

"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." -Coretta Scott King

Below are some ways you can help grow your community:

  1. Get involved as a volunteer (ie: be a mentor)

  2. Support local businesses (ie: small businesses/black owned businesses, follow & support on social media, leave positive reviews, tell others)

  3. Help your neighbors (ie: charity starts at home; assist an elderly with grocery shopping, help someone in need)

  4. Donate things (ie: unwanted clothing for a startup boutique)

  5. Donate money (ie: local charities/non-profit businesses are always in need)
